Moments like this are a reminder: their wildness is not just in the hunt, but in how they love.

As one of the world’s most endangered mammals, the African wild dog cannot survive alone. Their strength lies in unity, in movement, in the heartbeat of the pack. And somehow, in this moment, it was as if it knew their numbers were dwindling.

A lone hyena emerges from the bush, pausing just long enough for the light to catch its form. This was not an easy shot... the moment was brief, the shadows deep, and the animal cautious. Often misunderstood, hyenas move between worlds, thriving in the margins where few dare follow.

A fleeting moment with a black-backed jackal... an animal known for its skittish, sharp-eyed nature. This image was the result of stillness, silence, and a huge amount of luck. For just long enough, our paths aligned. In the space between movement and vanishing, I captured something rare: a calm jackal, watching, unhurried… for now.
